Hi, I’m Irma!

After years of talking the ears off of anybody who would (begrudgingly) listen to how much I love movies, I decided that its finally time to subject all of the internet to my opinions.

I’m a translator by trade and therefore used to occupying an in-between position in life, language and society. When writing reviews and especially deep-dives and personal essays, I’m acutely aware of this liminal space between real life and the cinematic narrative that both imitates and influences it. And so, from this space, where movies meet real life experiences and really anything else that comes to my attention, I say “Hello, sit down, have a cookie and listen to me Wax Cinematic.”
